Daiichi 1510 Glo-Bug Hook
The Daiichi 1510 Glo-Bug Hook is a 3X-short hook that has become extremely popular with anglers that use salmon eggs as bait and by fly fisherman who use artificial eggs as patterns for steelhead trout and salmon. Fly tiers prefer this type of hook for spider and ant patterns which are successful for trout in situations when there isn't a significant hatch of aquatic insects occurring, such as late summer.

I bought these hooks to tie some nymph and scud patterns. I fish a lot of tailwaters that call for small flies and liked the look of this hook. The 18s are great to get about a size 20/22 nymph look with great hooking power. It is a heavier hook but I just returned from the San Juans and the fish didn't seem to care. Give it a whirl, I think you will like it!
