The Rite Half Hitch Mag Bobbin offers all the great features of other Rite Bobbins, with the additional convenience of being able to half hitch flies using the specially-tapered barrel. Turn out more flies more efficiently, or tie off materials as you tie to ensure that more complex flies are less likely to come unraveled. Best Fly Tying Bobbin Ever!

Used a ceramic bobbin for about 6 years and hated breaking thread. Gave this one a try and wish I had got it sooner.

Love my Rite Bobbin!

I'm extremely happy with the Rite Half Hitch Bobbin. The ability to set the tension on the bobbin so that it will either hang and not unwind to my fly tying desk or I can set it to unwind to my desk if I prefer, is such an amazing advantage over a standard bobbin. Not to mention the tapered neck allows for a half hitch and/or whip finish without a whip finisher is a tremendous plus. Simply wrap the thread around the neck of the bobbin and place the tapered end of the bobbin over the eye of the hook and the put a little tension on the thread and either a half hitch or a whip finish slides off of the barrel of the bobbin, over the head of the hook eye and securely finishes your fly. ..Awesome... the tension, or drag on the thread,( bobbin)... is adjustable so this is a great tool for any fly tier.

The Best Fly Tying Bobbin On The Market!

I found recommendations for this bobbin in a fly tying forum thread, and I'm certainly glad I took their advice. Adjustable tension works like a charm. Very smooth release. Half hitch tool is a welcome addition as well. This bobbin is built to last a lifetime and is well worth the investment.
