MY FAVORITE SHORT SHANK HOOK

The Gamakatsu SC15 has to be one of my favorite hooks for tying EP style flies. Seriously strong! Also, the wire isn't too thick either, so it gets amazing penetration. Im not sure if its just me, but the way the hook is bent, it also seems to help keep the fish on better, even when I have to go barbless. Great hook, and also a great price!

Good Hook For Larger Game Fish

I use the Gamakatsu SC15 hook quite a bit in my saltwater patterns when I don't need a particularly long shank. Holds up well and is very sharp.
