The Rite Shorty bobbin was designed with smaller flies in mind. It provides the same level of precision tension, along with a smaller sized barrel. This is the perfect tool for those little blue wing olives, midges, small parachutes, or any other pattern where a full-sized bobbin starts to impede your ability to see and/or tie. The Shorty bobbin also boasts a high quality ceramic tube, to ensure smooth performance, and a removable vinyl grip.

  • Approximately 3/4" shorter than the Rite "Standard" bobbin

Well worth the money

Well worth the money. Thread control is important and this bobbin makes it easy to get the proper tension. I like bobbins with a shorter profile and this one fits the bill. Perfection!

PRECISE CONTROL

I have small hands and also tie a lot of small flies in the 20+ range. The Rite Shorty bobbin is just the tool for the job needing to be as precise as possible with midge size flies. The drag system on Rite bobbins are pure perfection and allow you to adjust the tension as needed. I keep a couple of these at my desk at all times and they make for enjoyable experience while tying flies. Can't recommend them enough.

PERFECT FOR SMALL FLIES

These bobbins are simple and easy to use. They fit great in my hand and hold tension incredibly well. This is extremely important when tying midge size flies as it allows for precise thread control. A must have for all of your tiny flies.
