EZ Hook & Hackle Pliers are an excellent fly tying tool for wrapping hackle as well as showcasing or drying your flies. These hackle pliers are easy to use. Simply push the base inwards with your thumb to expose the hook loop, insert your hook or hackle into the loop, release the button for a firm hold.

Nice hook and hackle pliers!

I really like these hook and hackle pliers, they hold great and aren't heavy like my other set. Works great when wrapping sensitive materials like peacock herl or accidentally pulling too hard on the soft hackle and pulling it out of the fly. Very easy to open too, even with my arthritic hands.

Inexpensive and handy

I use this to hold hackle, grab small hooks so I can get a bead on, and hold lead wire to the hook to get it wrapped...just to name a few uses. And no, it does not have vice grip holding power, but it works great for me, and holds everything for me that I want it to.
