The Daiichi 1560 traditional nymph hooks are 1X-longer than standard shank lengths. They are used for slightly longer wet flies, which give them a “truer to nature” dimension, considering that wet flies represent mayflies, which are long bodied insects. They are also a nice length for mayfly nymph imitations and bead-headed wet flies.

Quality Nymph Hook

I've used these to tie up a number of tungsten bead head nymphs in size 12 and 14. The hooks are of good quality, consistent bend and sharp. I've pinched down the barb on the ones I've tied and haven't had any hooks break. I'd recommend them for anyone looking for a quality hook at a reasonable price.
