Pintail flank feathers are similar to barred duck feathers like mallard flank and wood duck, but its markings are more pronounced and it fibers tend to be longer, making it a great choice for Spey flies as well as streamers. Naturally it can also be used for wings, tails, legs -- anywhere a finely barred flexible fiber is called for.
